To commemorate the 33rd "World Water Day" and the 38th "China Water Week", to enhance public education on national conditions, water situations and water security, and to create a favorable social atmosphere for water management, development, conservation and protection, the China Water Resources Museum has meticulously planned and jointly launched a series of World Water Day-themed activities under the theme of "Ensuring Water Security, You and Me Together".

Today, the World Water Day theme event "Ensuring Water Security, You and Me Together" and the opening ceremony of the water security-themed dual exhibitions were held at the China Water Resources Museum. Leaders and guests from the China Water Conservancy Literature and Art Association, the Yangtze River Water Resources Commission, the Huaihe River Water Resources Commission, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Water Resources, the China Taxation and Finance Museum, the Suzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, units of the National Water Conservancy Museum Alliance, and relevant municipal and county governments and water conservancy system units attended the event ceremony. Museum staff, volunteer representatives, and donor representatives also participated in the event.

The event kicked off with a lively song. Chen Yongming, the director of the museum, delivered a speech introducing the theme activity and the content of the dual exhibitions, and presented the "Water Museum Friend" certificates to the representatives of the donors. Ling Xianyou, vice chairman of the China Water Conservancy Literature Association, also delivered a speech. Wu Honghui, a member of the Party Group and deputy director of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Water Resources, presented the flag to the volunteer team, initiating the 2025 "Ensuring Water Security, You and Me Together" support service. The audience present jointly opened the dual exhibitions on water security and visited the exhibitions collectively.

The "Water Management for National Peace and Prosperity - National Water Conservancy Museum River Safety Exhibition" jointly launched by the China Water Conservancy Museum and the National Water Conservancy Museum Alliance has gathered over 150 exquisite cultural relics and precious historical materials from more than 50 water conservancy museums and institutions across the country. The exhibition aims to showcase China's rich water conservancy history and culture as well as its achievements in modern water conservancy construction. Publicize the significant role of water conservancy in ensuring national water security and promoting sustainable economic and social development, and enhance the awareness of water concerns, water crises and water rule of law throughout society. The exhibition traces the history of river safety back to the innovative practices of modern water conservancy, from the grand construction of water conservancy projects to the inheritance and promotion of water culture, presenting a magnificent chapter of China's water management for national stability and water conservancy for the people from all aspects and multiple perspectives.

The exhibition "Ink and Brush Forge Glorious Chapters, Painting Welcomes a Prosperous Era - Selected Fine Arts and Calligraphy Works from the National Water Conservancy System" is jointly created by the China Water Conservancy Museum and the China Water Conservancy Literature and Art Association. It brings together over 100 outstanding fine arts and calligraphy works from the national water conservancy system. Through the medium of brush and ink, it showcases the heroic aspirations of water conservancy workers in governing water and ensuring national stability, and eulopraises the glorious achievements of the water conservancy cause in the new era. One by one, these literary and artistic works have created splendid chapters with ink and brush, and welcomed the prosperous era with their colors. They express the firm belief of the vast number of water conservancy cultural and artistic workers and enthusiasts to unswervingly follow the Party's lead and remain committed to its cause, as well as their praise and blessings for the great motherland.

In addition to the double opening ceremonies, during Water Day and Water Week, the China Water Resources Museum will also jointly host the "Mountain and Sea Sharing the Same Origin, Water Conservation Together" Five-City Joint run water conservation theme publicity event with the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Water Resources and the Zhejiang Provincial Water Conservation Office, jointly painting a chapter of water conservation with the posture of running. In collaboration with Huashu Media, we launched the "Ensuring Water Safety, You and Me Together" parent-child water safety education campaign, providing water safety knowledge to over a hundred parent-child families. In collaboration with the Zhejiang Provincial Water Resources and Hydropower Management Center, Zhejiang University of Technology, and Zhejiang Tongji College of Science and Technology, we jointly launched the 2025 "Ensuring Water Security, You and Me Together" voluntary publicity campaign, conducting voluntary publicity activities such as water conservation legal education and river walking both inside and outside the museum and the school. Jointly hold a calligraphy and painting session with the China Water Conservancy Literature and Art Association to carry out exchanges on water conservancy literature and art creation. We have carried out in-depth cooperation with the Hangzhou Xuejun Primary School Education Group on the co-construction of the museum and the school, and held the opening ceremony of the Yunqi Primary School Cultural Center. And a "Unite Hearts, Pool Wisdom, Share the Future" symposium for friends of the museum was organized, specially inviting representatives from all walks of life who care about and support the water conservancy cultural and museum cause to jointly discuss and draw up the development blueprint of the water museum. It is hoped that through a series of splendid exhibition activities, the public will further care about and support the water conservancy cause, and continuously contribute to promoting high-quality water conservancy development and ensuring China's water security.
